As a part of 'World Hijab Day', WNYMuslims is inviting all to learn more about the Hijab and modesty as it ties into the Muslim faith!
We are inviting all non-Muslims and Muslim females who do not wear the hijab, to try a headscarf for the entire day of Saturday, February 1st, 2014. By doing so, we hope to facilitate discussion and education while dispelling myths and misconceptions regarding the hijab.
Come join us this Saturday as we table at the Walden Galleria from 10am-7pm with Hijabs, available for mall goers to try on the beautiful pieces to see how they look, while learning more about the beautiful faith and story behind the veil!
Join the Facebook Event!
If you would like to volunteer on Saturday or would like to donate some hijabs, please contact us asap!
As we very excitedly mentioned in the past, WNYMuslims had a chance to be a part of this year's 2013 'Reviving the Islamic Spirit' convention in Toronto, Canada. With a special Media pass, we went out to capture the 3-day-long event. After gathering the clips of such renowned speakers such as Professor Tariq Ramadan, Nouman Ali Khan, Yasmin Mogahed, and more, we happily edited all the best snippets for your enjoyment!
Here are some of the wonderful speakers we caught on camera! InshaAllah their thoughtful words and wisdom touch your hearts as much as they did ours.
Please enjoy and share! WATCH HERE!

Featured Photograph of the Week
This weeks's feature is by WNYMuslims volunteer Danyah Ismail. Danyah spends her time volunteering with WNYMuslims because she believes in leaving a mark in society.
She always looks forward to trying new things in life and records her journey of exploring America by taking photos. She is obsessed with the beauty of the sunset and took this shot during Christmas break 2013 in Pacifica Municipal Pier, California.
If you have taken a photograph that you think should be featured, please send it in with a description of the shot, and a short bio of yourself to WNYMuslims@WNYMuslims.org.
