Celebrating Community Champions

Buffalo, NY - Friday, April 11, 2025: On the evening of April 10th, more than 200 guests gathered in the spirit of unity, service, and celebration for the 41st Annual Appreciation Dinner—an inspiring event that brought together individuals from diverse religious and cultural backgrounds to embody the powerful theme: “Honor Diversity. Work for the Common Good.”

Hosted in a warm and welcoming setting, the evening honored the outstanding contributions of over 40 “Community Members,” each nominated by their respective organizations for their commitment to making a meaningful difference. Among them was Beatrice Singh Arnone, who received a Special Community Service Award in recognition of her outstanding leadership and initiative with the NRC Youth Alliance—a true testament to her dedication to empowering the next generation.

The atmosphere was alive with joy and harmony. Jazz Man Bob White set the tone with smooth melodies during dinner and fellowship, while Yanick Tshikulu and his group God’s Favor delivered an uplifting musical performance that elevated the spirit of the evening just before the awards presentation.

Among the many inspiring honorees, following individuals were proudly nominated by WNYMuslims for their remarkable commitment to service:

As a Vendor Supervisor in High Fidelity Wraparound (HFW) services, she takes pride in serving under a Muslim-led organization, praising its compassion, values, and unwavering support. Her work has helped countless families find stability, resources, and hope.

Yahya Alaryani – A dedicated, and tireless volunteer, Yahya’s generosity and boundless energy uplift every cause he touches. His unwavering commitment to community service has left an indelible mark, inspiring all who work alongside him.

Muhammad Khalid Khan – Known for his steadfast presence and quiet strength, Muhammad is always ready to lend a hand. His consistent willingness to help, share his expertise, and support others makes him a trusted and cherished pillar in the community.

Shireen Ahmed – A culinary gem and generous heart, Shireen’s contribution through catering goes far beyond food. Her meals—prepared for community gatherings, fundraisers, and special events reflects her passion for community service.

These honorees, along with many others recognized throughout the night, represent the heart of our community: individuals who embody compassion, resilience, and a shared vision for a better world.
