Press Release

WNYMuslims is Celebrating Eid with Ice Cream

WNYMuslims would like to extend an invitation to the community  to promote diversity in Buffalo by joining us in this ice cream social event. Eid which closely translates to holiday refers to Eid Al Adha is an important Muslim holiday, in which God tested Ibrahim or Abraham by asking him to sacrifice his one and only son Isaac or Ishmael.

This “Celebrating Eid with Free Ice-Cream” is a free event that is part of our mission: awareness, diversity, service.  In hosting this event we aim to spread awareness about this holiday and Muslims and encourage parents and children from all cultures and faiths to come together. It is our hope that this gesture may open the hearts and minds of those who may have reservations towards, or are unfamiliar with, the Islamic faith.

WNYMuslims is a community-based organization that works to create awareness, encourage diversity, and provide service within the Western New York community.  Our organization is media oriented, providing a platform for Muslims to create a more positive image within the mainstream media, in an effort to overcome stereotypes and prejudices.

The event will take place outside our office at 4011 Bailey Avenue, Amherst, NY 14226 on Saturday, October 19th, 2013 from 2:00PM – 4:00pm. Please share the attached flyer.

We hope you come out and celebrate this holiday with us!
