The purpose of the event was to close out Islam Awareness week, which started Monday April 6 and ended  Friday April 10. The purpose of the week was to intrigue anyone who was interested in Islam, into learning about the religion.  Also it was organized as a way to help dispel any information and misconceptions that may exist in regards to Islam.

The World Bazaar market exposed students to other organizations that exist at UB and businesses that are  throughout Western New York. Some of the different vendors were participating Muslims from Malaysia, Palestine, the U.S. and many other parts of the world.

The vendors had their own items to sell which included clothing, food and literature which was relative to their culture.
