Studio Kalam hosted the “...

WNY Muslims hosted a special Studio Kalam event to celebrate Eid Mubarak at the Boys and Girls Club on Thursday, July 16th. There were a variety of small business vendors selling clothing, jewelry, body care products and giving out henna tattoos. The event was well attended with more than 100 people that came to shop, eat , listen to Nasheed and have henna done. Dates and tea were given out at Iftar so attendees could break their fast with others in the community. Zetti’s Pizzeria donated 5 pizzas as part of the fundraising efforts for WNYMuslims. Additional food that was available included samboosa, chicken kabobs, chicken sandwiches and many deserts options.

Spoken word Rap & Hip Hop artsist, Quadir Lateef performed a memorable and moving nasheed during the event. His nasheed stressed the importance of setting aside time daily to reflect on what God wants from you and your life. Lateef has been featured on the BET All Stars Tour, as well as NBC’s Buffalo affiliate local news shows. It was a privilege to have him perform and remind us of the values of Islam while we were concluding the holy month of Ramadan.

WNY Muslims appreciates all of the community members that came out to celebrate Eid and also the Boys and Girls Club for continuing to show their support for WNYMuslims as well as the entire Muslim community.pic_5355
