This weekend (March 7-9) is designated by the American Muslims for Affordable Healthcare as the national Muslim Enrollment Weekend for the new healthcare. The registration deadline for individuals and families to submit application is March 31. MPAC-WNY in cooperation with American Muslims for Affordable  Healthcare and the Islamic Medical Association of North America has joined this initiative in Western New York.

To assist our community members to receive appropriate healthcare and provide necessary help to complete the application process, MPAC-WNY requested all area Mosques and organizational leaders to join in this initiative. We asked each organization to send their volunteers for a free training session provided by MPAC-WNY earlier today. This would allow organizations to have appropriate “Healthcare Application Help Booths” after Friday (Juma) prayers in each Mosque.

Please note that the following Mosques have confirmed their participation and will provide “Healthcare Application Help Tables” tomorrow, Friday, March 7, 2014 immediately following the Juma prayers:

Masjid Al-Iman : 444 Connecticut Street, Buffalo, NY 14213

Jaffarya Center: 10,300 Transit Rd. East Amherst, NY 14051

Lackawanna Islamic Mosque: 154  Wilkes-Barre Street, Lackawanna, NY 14218

MPAC-WNY has trained volunteers at  both the Mosques for assistance for the community members in order to complete the application process. Please take advantage of this opportunity for the benefit of your own and your family’s health. Full information will also be provided at these booths in order for you to make the right choice.

This will be followed by an educational seminar on “ACA or Obama care: What you need to know & how to Apply” on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at 6:30 PM (immediately following Maghrib prayers).
