Celebrate Mercy presents...

On the evening of Friday September 12th, local community members gathered in the banquet hall of Masjid An-Noor for a screening of Celebrate Mercy’s latest production, “Hope After Hardship.”

The production covered Prophet Muhammed (PBUH)’s arduous journey from Makkah to Medina, and showcased a number of well-known scholars who discussed the lessons that were to be learned from his story. Omar Suleiman, Nouman Ali Khan, Anse Tamera and Zaid Shakir were among the 25 speakers featured. Muslim musician Baraka Blue also participated by sharing a moving poem inspired by the Prophet (PBUH)’s migration.

Although the program was 3 hours long, most of the attendees powered through, and only took a break to pray Isha when the Adhan (call to prayer) was called. The audience was diverse, and included both Muslims and non-Muslims, young and old.

Since the event had been announced as a potluck, there was an array of dishes for people to enjoy, ranging from biryani to pizza, and even popcorn and chips for those who were still full from dinner.

The event was an undeniable success, with over 50 attendees filling the banquet hall.

The goal of each Celebrate Mercy production is to raise awareness of the generosity and kindness of Prophet Muhammed (PBUH), whose story is often misrepresented in the media. It aims to combat the misconceptions that rise from lack of knowledge about Islam and the Hadiths by presenting easily accessible information in varied and interactive formats.
