Faizan founded WNYMuslims to connect the local Muslim community and create a forum for learning, training, and opening a dialogue. You can spot him at most local events, connecting with community members and building bridges.
An accomplished attorney at law in Western New York, a community leader and is dedicated to promote diversity in this region. He has served on many local boards and is a well respected attorney.
Husnah holds a Bachelors degree in International Trade. She has been a resident of WNY since 2009, and has actively participated in local organizations to contribute her time to helping a greater cause. She has given several speeches and advocates the importance of Muslim Women playing an active role in their communities and in the professional world. Her dream is to establish a platform that encourages women to speak up, take a stand, and establish their identities in the world around them. In her free time she loves practicing yoga and cooking new recipes! As the Community Outreach Coordinator she hopes to make WNY Muslims the HUB for inclusivity amongst the Muslim Community.
Born and raised in Far Rockaway Queens, Damion’s journey brought him to Western New York in 2003. This was also the year in which he accepted Islam, then only thirteen years of age. He now attributes that life changing event to be the most influential factor in his current pursuit of positive social change. Receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and minor in Communications at D’Youville College, his objective is to utilize his academic background in unison with his position at The Collective News to invite and inspire others to express and engage themselves proactively in their communities. Hailing from one of the most multicultural cities in the world, Maribel is no stranger to diversity. She is a second-generation immigrant of Latin-indigenous descent. These origins have contributed to her goal in inspiring others to take part in creative forms of enlightened expression. As a Graphic Designer, she has learned that comprehending societal dilemmas are as equally important as solving them. With this mind set, design has become her way of opening discussions and bettering the lines of communication and understanding. She intends on helping overcome the obstacles afflicting our communities and beyond.
Khawla holds a Bachelors degree in Computer Arts. She is a Graphic Designer who has experience in creating Logos, Flyers, Brochures, Banners and Posters. She is a mother of two and very passionate about making a difference in the world. She is Hard working and focused. She hopes to be a good asset to WNYMuslims and help in achieving its goals, and in turn gain experience to better herself and help the world be a better place for her children.
