Video: Roses of the Prophet (PBUH)

On April 3rd, 2013, WNYMuslims along with volunteers from all faiths took part in an outreach event called 'Roses of the Prophet'.  500 multicolored roses were distributed at multiple locations throughout Buffalo, NY, including two hospitals, downtown Buffalo, and the University at Buffalo campus, in honor of the love and mercy of the beloved Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).  Watch a video of the event HERE.

Event Coverage: Human Rights Tragedy in Pakistan

On Sunday afternoon community members and leaders gathered at the Jaffarya Islamic Center in Amherst to raise awareness of the persecution of Shia, Ahmadi, and Christian minorities in Pakistan.  The sectarian violence against these minorities by the Sunni Muslim majority has been ongoing and has escalated in 2013. Several bombings in Pakistan since the start of the year, including the most recent outside a mosque in Karachi and one in Balochistan have killed hundreds.  Read More.

Event Coverage: Project Candlelight 

Project Candlelight was an event held on April 18th at the University at Buffalo by the Indian Student Association. The event was in honor of the young woman in New Delhi, India who passed away due to an extreme sexual abuse attack.
