The annual “Roses of the Prophet – iLove” event is part of our outreach efforts. In hosting this event we aim to spread awareness by passing out roses, along with some inspirational words of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), to individuals in the community. It is our hope that this gesture may open the hearts and minds of those who may have reservations towards, or are unfamiliar with, the Islamic faith.
Last year, we gave out over 500 roses in Downtown Buffalo, University at Buffalo, and numerous nursing homes within the community. Given the outstanding success of last year’s event, we wanted to expand upon its initial concept by including sayings by the Prophets Jesus (a) and Moses (a) in order to promote interfaith unity and tolerance as well.
This year’s event will take place at two locations on Sunday (2pm-4pm) and Monday (12pm-2pm), October 12-13, at the Walden Galleria Mall and at University at Buffalo’s Student Union. Our goal is to raise enough funds to distribute 500-600 roses.
