Victims of Recent Violence Against Minority Christians in Lahore

WNYMuslims Stands by the Victims of Recent Violence Against Minority Christians in Lahore

More than 150 Christian homes and 2 churches in Lahore were set on fire. This surge of violence was sparked by a Christian Pakistani who allegedly blasphemed the Prophet. Western New York Muslims condemns any acts of violence against any minority group and realizes the actions of a few can be detrimental to the well being of many. Our hearts go out to the victims of this violence in Lahore.

There is absolutely no excuse for such senseless violence and neither can it be Islamically justified. Islam condemns such treatment of minorities and Muslims must raise their voice against such acts of unjust violence.  We urge the responsible authorities in Lahore and Pakistan to apprehend the perpetrators and punish them to the full extent of the law.

WNY Muslims serves community at large in facilitating interfaith understanding, respect and dialogue. We urge religious, social and cultural organizations in Lahore and Pakistan to come to the aid of the threatened minorities and initiate a serious dialogue for co-existence, tolerance and understanding. WNY Muslims is honored to be part of such sincere efforts.

Lets pray to God Almighty to bless us all through these difficult times with patience and healing for our hearts and souls.
