FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (06/26/13)
WNYMuslims “Summer of Service: Walking in the Footsteps of the Prophet”
WNYMuslims is excited to announce its first ever community-based volunteering service week, Monday July 1st through Monday, July 8th. The week-long “Summer of Service” event will consist of WNYMuslilms staff and community volunteers providing much needed services for local organization such as Buffalo City Mission, Islamic Center of Niagara Frontier, the Learning Disabilities Association of Western New York and Project Noor.
Projects include grounds cleanup and landscaping, sorting and organizing donations for refugees, assembling food baskets for families in need, and more. With Ramadan quickly approaching this is an especially important time of year to give back to the community and help those in need.
WNYMuslims invites anyone who is interested in volunteering for any of these projects to attend a WNYMuslims Volunteer Orientation session on Monday July 1st at 4pm. For more information please call us at (716) 923-4386. Volunteers may also sign up via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
