Lauren Booth, Sister-in-Law of Tony Blair, Comes to Buffalo
This Saturday, May 11, Lauren Booth will be speaking at a fundraiser for the Muslim Legal Fund of America, co-sponsored by WNYMuslims. This event is free and open to the public. It begins at 8:30 pm at the Islamic Society of Niagara Frontier at 745 Heim Rd. Getzville, NY.
Lauren Booth is the sister-in-law of former British Prime Minister, Tony Blair. Booth is a renowned Journalist, human rights activist, and public speaker. In October of 2010, Booth announced her conversion to Islam. As a journalist, Booth has written for the New Statesmen, the Mail on Sunday, the Sunday Times and the Daily Mail. She is a vocal peace activist and a supporter of the Stop the War Coalition; a member of Woodcraft Folk, Media Workers against the War and the National Union of Journalists. She has been a panelist on the BBC’s Have I Got News for You, and a broadcaster on radio and television. Lauren will be speaking about her emotional and inspirational journey to Islam.
