WNYMuslims wants the community to know their Muslim neighbors; we encourage interfaith dialogue and education lecture series on Islam. We offer presentations to raise awareness and understanding about what Islam teaches and what Muslims practice as part of their faith, and also on political issues that affect the highly Muslim populated countries.

Here is a list of topics that were presented. Schools, businesses and other organizations are welcome to invite WNYMuslims to present on other relevant topics not listed.

 “What Makes the Final Cut?”

WNYMuslims hosted a media workshop to discuss how people can get involved, especially the Muslim community, since post 9/11, there has been a primarily negative spotlight placed on American Muslims. This event aimed to teach people how to remove this negative stereotype. It taught individuals how to reach out to the media, participate in interviews, and discover their media strengths. The guests speakers included: George Richert from Channel 4, Jay Tokasz from the Buffalo News, Cardinal Greene from RCD Virtual Productions and Professor Faizan Haq from Buffalo State College and University at Buffalo.
