WNYMuslims is looking for a dynamic person with qualified organizational skills to join our team. The current position is for a grant writer who has experience working with non-profit organizations. We are looking for someone with experience at finding and writing grants for non-profits/media/educational organizations. Please read below for more information.
Desired qualifications:
1. Strong communication, organizational and writing skills
2. Must be energetic, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
3. Must be have two years experience, prefer non-profit experience but not necessary.
Grant writer will:
4. Research/advise WNYMuslims on grants that can further our mission.
5. Colloborate with WNYMuslims staff in order to address needs/goals.
6. Write grants and submit before deadline.

2. Event Journalist

WNYMuslims is looking for social individuals who can represent WNYMuslims when doing event coverage for important events in the community. Typically events will be in evening and weekends. Reliable transportation is necessary.
Event journalist may be responsible for the following items.

Networking with community members and bringing awarness about WNYMuslims. ie handing out business cards and promotional brochures.

Gaining feedback from the community about our organization.

Accurately writing an article about the event, including what the event was for, who spoke etc.

Taking photographs of the attendees, speakers etc.

Interviweing guests or helping setting up camera/sound equipment.
