The Buffalo News wrote about WNYMuslim's 'Roses of the Prophet' event and our organizations's goal to change the negative perception of Muslims and our Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh).
Eileen Buckley, Assistant News Director of WBFO interviewed a few members of WNYMuslims: Faizan Haq, Amani Abumhamra, Nicole M and Fatima Lodhi. This five minute interview discussed the youthfulness of our organization and how we utilize creative media to combat stereotypes.
On the front page of NExT Generation of the Buffalo News, Shaan Shaikh, a host of our news program Beyond Boundaries was featured. Here is an excerpt:
“Beyond Boundaries” is an online Muslim news show run through WNYMuslims.org. It covers human rights stories, politics and “kickers,” as Shaan calls them, referring to more lighthearted stories.
News 4's George Richert asked Professor Faizan Haq, "Is she a terrorist?" Professor Haq replied with a laugh and then said, "Adeela Khan was my student, she was great student."
The NYPD had secret programs to monitor Muslims at the places where they eat, shop and worship. Part of this surveillance included undercover officers at Muslim Student Associations in colleges across the Northeast. WIVB went to WNYMuslims and the local Muslim community to see what the reaction was of this story.
Fatima Lodhi of Western New York Muslims said, "It's sad. I know now, like, a lot of MSA students across country, they're going tobe somewhat frightened to join these organizations, for no reason. You know there's no evidence behind what was released."

In the third issue Volume 1 Edition 3 on page 23 the article explained about the new comings of WNYM Productions tv show Olive Branch and Fatima and Nicole as hosts.
