Identity Politics: An Interfaith Workshop on Prejudice

Congregation Havurah hosted an interfaith dialogue at Unitarian Universalist Church in Williamsville, NY on April 19th, 2017. It was a very well attended event and there were people from different walks of life. Different issues, that Americans face everyday due to the current political situation, were discussed. The event discussed American Citizens as very patient and tolerating towards different cultures and religion. In the group were Muslims, Hindus, Christians, Jews, Buddhists and many more. Everyone agreed that before they associate to any group/religion, they associate themselves as a human and then a tolerant and an accepting American. Many issues like immigration, prejudice in society were discussed. The discussion lasted for almost two hours and all participants were invited for refreshments at the end.

WNYMuslims actively participated in all the discussions. Faizan Haq, founder of WNYMuslims, during one of the discussions said that we need to bring positivity to the world through our words and through our actions. WNYMuslims thank Congregation Havurah for inviting them to their marvelous event.
