Donations Needed at Ken-Ton Closet

Last week a local non-profit, The Ken-Ton Closet, was robbed of all the school supplies and clothing it had collected for disadvantaged children in the Kenmore-Tonawanda area.  WNYMuslims asks that community members help them to replenish what was taken.  Items that are needed are listed HERE.  They are especially in need of NEW underwear and socks.

Items can be dropped off at the following locations:

-Bumblebeez Consignment Shop (906 Brighton Ave, Tonawanda)
-The Aquatic Center (1 Pool Plaza, Tonawanda)
-The Municipal Building (2919 Delaware Ave, Kenmore)
-The Closet (169 Sheridan Parkside Drive...Tuesdays 10 - 1 and M-F 3 to 5 pm only at this location).

WNYMuslims Presents: 'Muslim Journeys' Adult Reading and Discussion Program

WNYMuslims is excited to announce that it will be hosting an Adult Reading and Discussion Program this fall titled 'Muslim Journeys.'  Thanks to the award of a grant from the New York Council for the Humanities WNYMuslims is able to offer this program to the public free of charge.  

The program will consist of four 90 minute meetings once a month (September to December) where we will be discussing three books provided by the council.  The three books include Acts of Faith: the Story of an American Muslim, the Struggle for the Soul of a Generation by Eboo Patel, Minaret by Leila Aboulela and How Does It Feel to Be a Problem?: Being Young and Arab in America by Moustafa Bayoumi.
